Ragga Rolly Polly

Local Grizzly Bear

I’d be surprised if I’m the first person to bring this up, but there’s something massively unsettling from the last episode. We know Gems can power stuff. Garnet jump started Greg’s van, and she (somehow) powers the washing machine. Lapis was reduced to nothing but a power source for the mirror.

It gets me thinking: maybe Gem-Tech is literally Gem Tech. Maybe Homeworld creates and powers things with Gems. Friend Ship seems to hint at this.

All the weapons and features in the space ship shared two features: a) they were gem-shaped and b) they glowed when activated.

Not at all unlike the living, breathing Gems when they use their powers.

Pearl also confirmed last episode that Gems aren’t unique. She’s a Pearl, and is geared toward serving whatever purpose a Pearl is meant to serve. Those lasers look identical, perhaps because they all came from the same kind of Gem that Homeowlrd uses for that purpose.

I always assumed Kindergartens existed to grow Gem soldiers. But maybe it’s more than that, worse than that. Maybe Homeworld grows Gems for the sole purpose of harvesting energy.
